LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Friday evening is a night that's been 1,980 days in the making. The rivalry between Azusa Pacific and Biola University is officially renewed as the two institutions play their first conference contest since 2012.
 
The Eagles travel to the Cougars' Felix Event Center for a 6:00 p.m. volleyball match to kick-off the 2017-18 Cornerstone Cup competition. It's the first meeting of the two sides since November 2012, which happened to be a 3-0 Biola victory.
 
Azusa Pacific does not charge admission to their volleyball events so all Biola students, staff, faculty, alumni and fans can go support their team without the burden of cost. We will also be on-site in Azusa handing out free Biola T-shirts to Biola students with ID.
 
Biola controls the all-time series over the Cougars with 49 wins and just 31 losses. The Eagles won four of the previous five matchups between these two sides. Get set for a good one though as three of those five matches went to five sets.
 
It is a very important match in helping determine the 2017 PacWest Conference Volleyball landscape as Biola and APU are both undefeated in conference play to this point. Azusa Pacific is 9-1 overall and 2-0 against PacWest competition. Biola is 7-2 and 1-0 in PacWest play.
