LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola Cross Country opened its season on Saturday with its annual Biola Invitational in Ted Craig Regional Park and the men's team came away with a win. Ryan Thompson was the first Eagle to cross the finish line that day and was rewarded for his efforts today with National Christian College Athletic Association Runner of the Week honors.

The junior out of Anaheim Hills, California paced his team with an 8k time of 25:16 and finished third overall in the meet. He becomes the first Biolan to earn a weekly honor from the NCCAA. The Eagles will be eligible for NCCAA weekly honors for the next two seasons as they hold dual-affiliation with the NCCAA and NCAA Division II.

Thompson's time was right on par with the winner of the award last week, so the Eagles can be expected to compete for a chance to take home honors each time they run.
