Men's Golf Adds Two Years

Biola initiates fundraising campaign to allow extension for men's golf.

August 15, 2017

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- In April Biola Athletics announced the men's golf program would be discontinued following the 2016-17 season. However, thanks in large part to an ongoing fundraising effort spearheaded by the Eagles Athletic Association, student-athlete families and the institution, we are pleased to announce the program has been granted a two-year extension.

"We're thrilled we are able to do a two-year phase-out for our men's golf program," said Director of Athletics Dr. Bethany Miller. "It's in the best interest of our student-athletes to be able to finish out their years in the program. It is a strong fundraising effort we have in process to be able to fund year one and year two."

Head Coach Max Allen will field a full team and compete a full schedule throughout the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years, which will allow most of the student-athletes to finish out their competitive careers at Biola.

The Eagles have a roster of 10 young men for this coming season and currently have nine potential tournaments scheduled, beginning with Biola's own Biola Fall Invitational at Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, California on Sept. 18-19.

The fundraising efforts for the 2018-19 season are still ongoing. Anyone wishing to contribute to the second year of the extension should contact Kevin Royse of the Eagles Athletic Association.
