December 06, 2017

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Keaton Kerr earned a prestigious distinction on Wednesday for his unique skill set on the pitch and in the classroom. The senior forward became the first student-athlete at Biola to earn Academic All-American honors at the NCAA Division II level.

Kerr was named an NAIA Academic All-American last season and has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for three years running.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to be named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans if they maintain a cumulative grade point average of higher than 3.30 and are a contributing member to their team's success.

Kerr scored five goals during his senior season while maintaining a 4.00 GPA in his accounting major. He was one of 13 Academic All-American selections who earned a 4.0 GPA and one of four PacWest players to get the honor.

Kerr and the Eagles finished a strong inaugural season in the PacWest, posting a 7-5-1 conference record, while Kerr logged 1033 minutes in 18 matches for Head Coach Todd Elkins.
