November 09, 2017

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- While Keaton Kerr scored four goals during his senior season and helped the Eagles to a winning record during their first year in the PacWest he continued to excel in the classroom.

Kerr was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District NCAA Division II First-Team on Wednesday for his success on the pitch and in his studies. In addition to his scoring skills, Kerr achieved a 4.00 GPA in his Accounting major. While Biola was in the NAIA, Kerr earned Academic All-District honors in 2015 and Academic All-American honors in 2016.

The Academic All-District teams were divided into eight geographical sections across the United States and Canada and "recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom," according to the CoSIDA release.

Kerr was one of nine PacWest soccer players to earn the distinction this season and is eligible for Academic All-America selection when those awards area handed out in December.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to be named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans if they maintain a cumulative grade point average of higher than 3.30 and are a contributing member to their team's success.
