Eagles Eager To Compete At NCCAAs

Biola Cross Country has a chance to win two titles in Mississippi on Saturday.

JACKSON, Miss. --- Biola University is seeking its first National Christian College Athletic Association team national championships in the NCAA Division II era. The cross country programs are the next to have an opportunity to bring home a banner.

Head Coach Sean Henning's squad is out in Jackson, Mississippi at Choctaw Trails Cross Country Course for the NCCAA National Meet, which takes place Saturday, November 11.

The women's team runs the championship 5k at 8:00 a.m. PT and the men's team goes for gold at 9:00 a.m PT. There is no live results of the event, but followers are suggest to monitor @NCCAAChamps on Twitter for up-to-the-minute updates.

Biola enters both races as the top-ranked NCCAA team in terms of regular season team time. There is a field of 14 schools on the men's side and 13 on the women's side. The event is hosted by Belhaven University (Jackson, Miss.).

In conjunction with the NCCAA and other teams in the field, Biola Cross Country will participate in Christian Service Projects in advance of the races. Teams will work with several local organizations in Jackson, including Stewpot Community Services, We Will Go Ministries and the Center for Pregnancy Choices. Student-athletes and coaches will either serve or donate needed items to these organizations.
