LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Following a busy weekend up in the Bay Area Biola Swim & Dive had some individuals rewarded for their hard work with swimmer of the week honors. Lisa Tixier made the biggest splash by earning NCAA Division II National Swimmer of the Week honors from Collegeswimming.com. Tixier and Raymond Kam both also earned honors from the Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference.

Tixier became the first collegiate swimmer to ever earn national swimmer of the week honors in two separate national affiliations. She won the collegeswimming.com award for the NAIA in December 2016. She becomes the first Biola student-athlete to earn a national player of the week honor in the NCAA.

Both swimmers competed in two meets up at Mills College this weekend. One was a head-to-head meet with Mills, College of Idaho and CSU East Bay and the other was the Bay Area Invitational, in which Head Coach Ryan Kauth had each of his swimmers swim six events.

Tixier stood out in both meets, earning two individual wins and one relay win on day one up north and two individual wins and four other top-3 finishes at the Bay Area Invite. She swam new season-best times in five of her six individual events and sits inside of the top-40 of all NCAA Division II swims in five of six events, including top-20 in three of them.

Kam was just as busy for the men's team to earn himself the PCSC weekly honor. He recorded top-5 finishes in five of his six individual events, including wins in the 100-breaststroke and 200-breaststroke and a runner-up mark in the 200-butterfly.

The Eagles are back in the pool this Saturday for a road dual meet at Azusa Pacific.
