SAN MARCOS, Calif. --- Biola Women's Golf closed out its fall season in style on Tuesday, finishing up the 2017 CSU San Marcos Fall Invitational in eighth place following two rounds in the low 300s.

Head Coach Jane Carr's team held exactly where it was after the end of the first day of competition and placed right in the middle of the 15-team field of NCAA Division II competition.

The Eagles finished up on a beautiful day at Twin Oaks Golf Club with it being partly cloudy without a whole lot of wind and temperatures in the mid-60s.

Jules Loibl had the round of the day for BU as she dropped three strokes from yesterday to card a 77. She finished tied with Tori Roeske as the team's top finisher at the tournament. They ended at 13-over overall and tied for 25th-place in the field of 80.

Roeske had the second-lowest individual score of the day with a 78. She also dropped a stroke from her first round tally to help Biola drop three strokes as a team. BU shot a 322 yesterday and followed that up with a 319 today. The 319 was the 8th-best score on the course this afternoon.

Marcel Manalo was the third and final Eagle to shoot in the 70s today. She ended her tournament as consistent as she's been all season. She followed a round one 79 with a second 79 to finish 14-over for the tournament and tie for 30th. The freshman finished third among all golfers with five birdies over the two rounds.

Biola's two-round total of 641 (+65) put them eight strokes behind the University of Victoria, which finished seventh, and 14 strokes ahead of PacWest Conference rival Point Loma, which finished ninth.

CSU San Marcos' 'B' team ended up winning the entire tournament by finishing 11 strokes better than the Cougars' 'A' team, which placed second. The 'B' team shot a 293 in round one and 301 in round two to win the tournament with a final score of 594 (+18).

Alexis Gopfert and Sophia Karnazes both ended with round two 85s to come in as the Eagles' fourth and fifth counting finishers. Gopfert went 25-over for the tournament and Karnazes was at 28-over.

Bella Larson and Rachel Reynolds, competing as individuals, also had solid second rounds. They carded an 81 and 82, respectively to finish the tournament at 23-over and 25-over.

Carr's team is done with fall competition now and will resume their 2017-18 season in February at the Point Loma REACH Invitational.
