PALM COAST, Fla. --- Biola Women's Golf continued competition at the 2017 National Christian College Athletic Association on Tuesday afternoon and moved up one spot on the leaderboard.

Head Coach Jane Carr's team is now in second place overall after skipping over Campbellsville with Tuesday's team score of 319. The Eagles shot a 320 on Monday and now sit at 63-over for the first two-thirds of the tournament.

The tournament leader is Dallas Baptist, which shot a 296 on Monday and followed up with a 287 on Tuesday to hold a steady lead.

Biola's goal will be to hold onto the second place spot after Wednesday's final round. The Eagles hold a five-stroke edge on Campbellsville as the Tigers shot 325 today to fall into third.

Tuesday's effort was led by Alexis Gopfert. Gopfert shot the team's best individual round of the tournament with a 77. She nearly shot even lower, but a sand trap on her 18th hole of the day set her back a few strokes. She sits in a tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard after two rounds.

Jules Loibl dropped four strokes from her opening round to come up with an 80 on Tuesday. The sweltering heat did not seem to get to her as she carded the team's second-best score. Loibl's round was built around a solid stretch where she managed three birdies within a five-hole stretch on the scorecard. She birdied holes eight, nine and 12. It was a very strong finish for her since she began her round on hole 10 and ended with the birdies on eight and nine.

Tori Roeske and Marcel Manalo both shot 81s on the day. For Roeske it was a four-stroke improvement from round one and should give her encouragement for tomorrow's final round. For Manalo it was a three-stroke setback from a very strong opening round. Look for her to bounce back and be extra motivated to drop some strokes on Wednesday.

Biola is virtually guaranteed a top-4 finish to the tournament with a 17-stroke buffer over the fifth-place team, but coach Carr's team will look to hold steady in second to end Biola's first NCAA Division II era NCCAA Championship with a national runner-up standing.

Round three is scheduled to tee off in the late-morning on Wednesday at the Hammock Beach Resort Conservatory Course.
