Box Score
SAN DIEGO --- Cody Shelton scored with just over three minutes remaining in regulation, then assisted on Zach Bautista's goal six minutes into overtime as Biola stormed back to defeat Point Loma Nazarene 2-1 in a GSAC match on Saturday afternoon in San Diego.

The Eagles, who now have played three-straight overtime matches, picked up their first win in those matches to improve to 8-5-2 on the season and move back into the playoff fray with a conference mark of 3-4-0. The Sea Lions fall to 7-7-1 overall and drop to 1-6-0 in the GSAC.

Shelton, who has played defense during his entire four-year career at Biola, has had a hand in the Eagles last four goals scored after being moved to forward with the team trailing. He scored a pair of goals in the final six minutes of Biola's loss on Wednesday at Westmont, and tallied a goal and an assist on Saturday.

The senior knotted the game at one with just over three minutes left, heading in a shot from 10 yards out off a long pass from Collins Egbe with 3:07 left on the clock.

Biola held a commanding shot advantage in the match at 26-10 and took six shots in six minutes of overtime. The Eagles finally broke through with the winning goal in the 97th minute after the immense pressure forced a corner kick. Marco Ruvalcaba sent the corner to the far post where Cody Shelton passed it to Zach Bautista for the winner.

After a scoreless first half, Point Loma broke through with the first goal in the 58th minute as Tyler Hall scored with a shot from the left side.

Biola kept up the pressure and got a huge break as PLNU's Griffin Fuller was sent off with a straight red card in the 63rd minute for dangerous play. The Eagles continued to fire away at goal only to see PLNU keeper Keith Cline make 11 saves on the night to keep his team in the contest.

Biola goalkeeper Aaron Fenlason recorded three saves and faced 10 shots to earn the win.

The Eagles close out the regular season next week with a pair of GSAC matches. First up is a trip to Santa Clarita where they face The Master's College, which currently sits two points ahead of Biola in fifth place in the conference. The Eagles close out the regular season with a home match on Friday night, hosting Vanguard University at 7:00 p.m.
