LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola's Jake Ravenscraft netted his first goal of the season as the Eagles played to a 1-1 draw in their GSAC opener with The Master's College on Saturday night.

Biola improves to 5-1-1 and 0-0-1 in GSAC play while the Mustangs move to 4-0-2 and 0-0-1 in the conference.

The match was a thriller and a very physical on as well. The two teams managed a number of good chances in the first half, but headed to the locker room at halftime tied at 0-0.

In the second, Biola struck first with a goal by Ravenscraft as he collected the ball amidst a number of bodies in the box and some how snuck it past the Mustang's goalkeeper. The goal, which came in the 59th minute, put the Eagles up 1-0.

Just over 20 minutes later, The Master's tied the score on an impressive goal by Fabio Joaquim. The Brazillian collected the ball just outside of the penalty area, spun and shot a ball right into the upper V on the far side.

Biola frantically looked for the match-winner in the final minutes of regulation, but were turned aside each time.

Neither team had a good chance in the first overtime, but each side managed a great opportunity in the second. The Master's had a near-breakaway thwarted by Biola senior defender Brandon Gonzalez near the midway point of the final overtime period.

Biola's best chance came during the final countdown as a corner kick by the Eagles found the head of Ravenscraft and looked to be heading to the back of the net before TMC netminder Kevin Lawson made a spectacular save as the horn sounded.

The Eagles' Tyler Higgins recorded eight saves and faced 15 shots in the match hile Lawson faced 15 and made six saves.

Biola returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 30), traveling to Vanguard University for a GSAC match which kicks-off at 7:00 p.m.
