BOX SCORE
PRESCOTT, Ariz. --- Sloppy play on the part of the Biola men's soccer team led to the first loss of the season, a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Embry-Riddle University (Ariz.) in a non-conference match on Saturday night.
The Eagles have their five-match winning streak snapped with the loss and drop to 5-1-0 on the season.
Biola did not have a strong match against a determined Embry-Riddle squad as evidenced by the first goal coming on an own goal by the Eagles. Embry-Riddle then scored two more goals before the half thanks to Biola fouls in the box which led to a pair of penalty kicks.
In the second half, Embry-Riddle tacked on another goal as miscommunication along the Biola back line led to a steal and goal for the home team to give Embry-Riddle a 4-0 advantage.
The Eagles' next match will be their GSAC opener as they welcome The Master's College to Al Barbour Field on Saturday, Sept. 27 for a 7:00 p.m. start.
