LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola outside hitter Jessica Buffum has been named the GSAC Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of September 8-14 as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Buffum, a senior from San Jose, recorded 24 kills and posted a .455 attack percentage in two matches last week, leading the No. 4-ranked Eagles to a pair of sweeps to open their GSAC schedule.

On Thursday, Buffum had 10 kills, six digs and an ace to lead Biola over No. 13 Vanguard. She followed that up with 14 kills in 23 attacks (.522 attack percentage) on Saturday in a three-game sweep against Westmont.

For the season, Buffum has recorded 105 kills in 12 matches, posting a 2.76 kill/set average. She is also second on the team in digs with 94 (2.47/game) and has 15 blocks and six aces.

Biola, which is off to a perfect 12-0 start to the season, returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 16), hosting San Diego Christian College in Chase Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
