LA MIRADA, Calif. — Biola juniors Hawkins Gebbers, Nick Rotkowitz and David West have been named to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference baseball team voted on by the conference coaches and released Friday by the GSAC office.

For Gebbers, it was the second time he earned all-conference recognition after being named to the team as a freshman in 2006. Gebbers, a second baseman from Brewster, Washington, led the GSAC with a .418 batting average and added team-highs of 74 hits, 19 doubles, 12 home runs 56 RBIS and 50 runs scored. He also had a .740 slugging percentage and struck out just 15 times in 177 at bats.

Gebbers also put together an impressive 22-game hitting-streak, falling just two shy of the school record. He also had a monster series against Westmont, going 5-for-7 with 11 RBIs and four home runs in two games against the Warriors.

Rotkowitz, a shortstop from Westminster, California, finished the regular season with a .398 batting average and led the team with 25 multi-hit games and 74 hits. Rotkowitz is currently riding a school-record tying 24-game hitting streak. He can break the streak with a hit in Biola's next game.

In hit team-high 186 at bats, Rotkowitz recorded 18 doubles, a triple, three home runs, 44 RBIs and scored 49 runs.

West, a rightfielder from Coronado, California, had a career year in 2008, batting .394 with 16 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 44 RBIs and 41 runs scored. West also finished second on the team with 11 stolen bases and reached base in 42 of Biola's 50 games this season.

Just two weeks ago, West was named the GSAC Player of the Week after going 8-for-13 (.615) at the plate with four runs scored, two triples, seven RBIs and a stolen base in four games against Westmont and Concordia. West's homer that week was a 425+ foot bomb to right centerfield at Concordia which helped Biola to a 4-3 win in the second game of the day.
