Biola's Jensen, Hudson Named to All-GSAC Team

LA MIRADA, Calif. — Biola senior infielders Sarah Jensen and Jacqie Hudson have been named to the All-GSAC team as announced by the conference office on Thursday.

Hudson, a third baseman from Orange, wrapped up the regular season with a career-best .373 batting average. She had 10 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored on the season.

Hudson was named the GSAC Player of the Week earlier this season after leading BIola to a 9-4 upset win over Point Loma Nazarene where she went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. She also collected three hits in as many at bats with a home run in a game against McPherson College that week.

Jensen, a first baseman from San Diego, had another strong season for the Eagles, batting .331 with a GSAC-best 17 doubles. She also had team-highs wth 31 runs scored and nine sacrifices and had a .988 fielding percentage at first. 

Jensen had a team-best 10 game hitting streak earlier in the season, a stretch which saw her hit .529 (18-for-34) with 12 runs scored, seven doubles and seven RBIs. She is also an outstanding student, boasting a 3.99 GPA and has twice earned GSAC and NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Biola makes its fourth-straight trip to the NAIA Regional Tournament next week as the No. 3 seed in the four-team field hosted by Cal Baptist. The Eagles take on No. 2-seed Point Loma Nazarene on Tuesday (May 6) at 11:00 a.m.
