Krista Johnson blasted a two-run shot for the Eagles

GAME ONE BOX SCORE | GAME TWO BOX SCORE

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Biola put up a strong fight and kept a pair of GSAC games close against No. 1 California Baptist, but Erin Moore had a career day for the Lancers who ultimately won by scores of 4-0 and 4-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Riverside.

The Eagles drop to 18-20 on the season with the losses and fall to 4-10 in GSAC play while the Lancers improve to 42-4 and 15-1 in GSAC play.

Biola was held to just two hits in the first game by Cal Baptist's All-American pitcher Amy Thomas, who added seven strikeouts to run her record to 23-2 on the season.

Meanwhile, Moore provided the bulk of the offense with a 3-for-3 performance including her eighth home run of the season.

Freshman pitcher Lyndsie Roberts suffered the loss to fall to 8-5 on the season. She allowed just seven hits to one of the best offenses in the nation and added four strikeouts, but allowed four runs in the loss.

In the second game, freshman pitcher Erica Moyer pitched well for the first five innings, giving up just one run on two hits while striking out a pair. That run came in the bottom of the first inning as Moore drove home a run with a single to put the Lancers up 1-0.

However, Cal Baptist broke the game open in the sixth as the first three batters against new Biola pitcher Emily Gray reached base. The third batter was Moore, who continued to beat up on the Eagles with a three-run home run to center to make it 4-0.

Biola came back with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning as Jacqie Hudson led off the inning with a double followed by a monster two-run home run to dead centerfield. However, Thomas was called upon to wrap up the game and got three quick outs to earn her fourth save of the year.

Moore provided the vast majority of the offense for the Lancers either scoring or driving in all but one of their eight runs on the day. She finished going 5-for-6 with two home runs, five RBIs and two runs scored.

Biola travels to Costa Mesa on Saturday (Apr. 12) for a GSAC doubleheader against Vanguard University with first pitch scheduled for Noon.
