INDIO, Calif. — The Biola Men's Golf team closed out its first season as a varsity program with an eighth place finish at the NAIA Region II Championships at the Golf Course at Terra Lago in Indio on Monday and Tuesday.

The Eagles played well in the third and final round on Tuesday, shooting a 336 to move into eighth in the nine-team field. Their play nearly moved them into seventh overall as they finished just 14 shots behind Dominican University.

Biola was led by Greg Bodine, who shot a 246 to finish 27th overall. CJ Clark took 34th overall with a 255 while Tim Goodfriend shot a 260 and Jeff Wille fired a 270.

Point Loma won the tournament with the Sea Lions' Sam Cyr taking top honors. Cal State East Bay took second while The Master's placed third.
