LA MIRADA, Calif. — Biola rightfielder David West has been named the GSAC Baseball Player of the Week for the week of April 14-20 as announced by the conference office on Monday.

West, a junior from Coronado, Calif., finished the week going 8-for-13 (.615) at the plate with four runs scored, two triples, a home run, seven RBIs, and a stolen base as Biola won all four of its conference games. He posted an impressive 1.154 slugging percentage on the week with 15 total bases in 13 at bats.

He was 3-for-3 on Wednesday against Westmont with a home run and a stolen base as Biola won 15-6. West went 2-for-4 in the first game of Biola's doubleheader at Concordia on Saturday with a triple and four RBIs. He followed that up with a 2-for-3 performance in the nightcap.

On the season, West is batting a team-best .418 with 15 doubles, three triples, three home runs, 38 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has reached base safely in 39 of the team's 44 games this season and has 18 multi-hit games.

Biola is 32-12 on the season and ranked No. 19 in the NAIA National Rankings. The Eagles are in third place in the GSAC at 22-10. Biola returns to action on Tuesday (Apr. 22), traveling to face Cal State San Marcos at Mission Hills HS at 3:00 p.m.
