LA MIRADA, Calif. — Biola's women's tennis team continued its hot play of late, defeating California Lutheran University 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Biola Tennis Center to pick up its third-straight win.

The Eagles improve to 4-7 on the season and have now won four of their last five matches.

The day didn't start out too hot for Biola as Cal Lutheran was able to pick up wins in two of three doubles matches. The Eagles lone doubles win came at No. 2 where Marisa Flores and Brea Roth teamed up for an 8-0 win.

Biola then took control of the match during singles play with wins in five of the six matches. No. 4 Kristin Williams picked up the first victory to tie the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win. But the Eagles' No. 1 Brea Roth dropped her match 6-0, 6-1 to give CLU the lead right back.

Biola would pick up two more quick victories to go back in front as No. 5 Marisa Flores won 6-1, 6-3 and No. 6 Sarah Snyder held on for a 6-0, 7-5 win. At No. 3, Nicholle Johnston clinched the victory for the Eagles with a 7-5, 6-4 win while No. 2 Christine Garner battled back for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win to close out the match.

The Eagles return to the court on Tuesday for a match against Dallas Baptist University at 2:00 p.m.
