LA MIRADA, Calif. — Just a day after pulling out its first win of the season, Biola fell to the University of La Verne 6-3 in a non-conference game on Saturday.

The Eagles drop to 1-8 on the season.

Biola pulled out a good win at No. 2 doubles to start things out right as Joel Huibregtse and Tyler Jung pulled out a 9-7 victory. However, La Verne won the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead to the singles play.

La Verne picked up two quick singles wins to take control of the match. The Eagles stayed close with a pair of three-set victories as No. 2 Tyler Jung won 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 and No. 5 Dan Westman won 4-6, 6-3 (10-5).

However, it was La Verne who won at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to seal the match.

Biola next faces NCAA Division II Dallas Baptist in a non-conference match at the Biola Tennis Center on Tuesday (Mar. 11) at 2:00 p.m.
