LA MIRADA, Calif. — Biola senior forward Danny Jones earned NAIA Honorable Mention All-America honors for the second time in as many years as announced by the NAIA offices on Tuesday afternoon.
Jones, who also earned all-Golden State Athletic Conference honors in both 2007 and 2008, wrapped up the season averaging 14.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game to lead the Eagles in both categories. He also finished third in the conference in rebounding and fifth in scoring.
The senior from Imperial, Calif., recorded 16 double-doubles on the year and failed to reach double-digits in scoring on just three occasions. Jones scored a season-high 22 points and added 11 rebounds at Cal Baptist in a 77-70 loss to the Lancers, though his 17 points and 15 boards helped the Eagles upset then-No. 9 CBU in La Mirada in February.
Jones wrapped his stellar career at Biola with a 19-point, 11-rebound performance in the Eagles' 71-67 loss at Concordia in a GSAC first round playoff game. Biola finished the season with a 17-14 record, reaching the post-season for the 37th consecutive season.
