Sarah Snyder won both matches she played in on Friday
Box Score

LA VERNE, Calif. — Biola won four of the six singles matches to pull out a 5-4 non-conference win over the University of La Verne in women's tennis action on Friday afternoon in La Verne.

The Eagles improve to 5-8 on the season with the victory and have won five of their last seven matches.

Biola defeated La Verne just two weeks ago, though the Leopards were without two players and were forced to default in three matches. This time, La Verne had its full contingent and gave the Eagles a good match.

Biola won just one of the three doubles matches to open the day as Sarah Snyder and Kelli Shiroma pulled out an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

In the singles competition, though, the Eagles pulled out four victories to win the match.

Biola's Christine Garner picked up a dominating 6-0, 6-1 win to start things out. The Eagles then took No. 4-6 singles to pull out the victory. Marisa Flores had an easy time at No. 5 singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win. Kristen Williams won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 4 singles while Sarah Snyder won by the inverse score of 6-0, 6-4.

The Eagles return to action on Tuesday (Mar. 18) as they travel to Vanguard University for a GSAC match at 2:00 p.m.
