LA MIRADA, Calif. — Biola lost a pair of non-conference games on Saturday, losing 8-0 in six innings to the University of Mobile (Ala.) in the first and falling 5-0 to Lee University (Tenn.) at Point Loma Nazarene.

The Eagles fall to 6-6 on the season with the pair of losses while both of their opponents improve to 9-1.

Biola's defense really struggled on the day, committing eight errors in the two games as just six of the 13 runs on the day were earned. The offense wasn't too much better managing just three hits against Lee and being no-hit in six innings by Mobile.

In game one, Biola had trouble against Mobile's Karla Rodriguez, who did not allow a hit and struck out four over six innings to earn the win.

The Eagles' Erica Moyer (1-2) surrendered eight runs on seven hits and suffered the loss, though just three of the runs were earned. Biola struggled on defense committing four errors including three in the first inning leading to four unearned runs.

Biola had a chance to get to Rodriguez in the fifth as Krista Johnson and Jacqie Hudson drew leadoff walks to open the inning. Erin DaSilva then moved the runners to second and third with a sacrifice bunt, but Rodriguez then got a pop out and a strike out to end the inning with no damage.

In game two, things remained close until a dropped fly ball allowed Lee's Jessica Reynolds to reach second. She was then sacrificed to third and scored the game's first run on a wild pitch.

The Flames would add three more runs in the top of the sixth inning on a suicide squeeze and a two-run double by Reynolds.

Lee would wrap up the scoring in the seventh thanks to a pair of Biola errors.

Emily Gray (3-2) took the loss for the Eagles, allowing three earned runs on eight hits over seven innings while striking out four.

Biola returns home on Monday (Mar. 1) for a doubleheader against the University of Mobile at Freedom Field with first pitch scheduled for noon.
