IRVINE, Calif. — Ryan Read continued his one-man assault on Biola, scoring 25 points to lead No. 7-ranked Concordia to a 75-56 win over Biola in a GSAC contest on Saturday night at CU Arena in Irvine.

Biola drops to 16-11 overall with the loss and 8-9 in GSAC play while Concordia moved to 22-4 and remains atop the GSAC standings with a 13-4 mark in conference play.

Read, who scored 21 points on seven three-pointers the last time these teams met, was held to just six three's in the game, but still finished with 25 points. Also in a similar fashion to the earlier game between the two, Read keyed a big run which ended up sealing the deal for Concordia.

The two teams were locked in a back-and forth battle through the first 15 minutes of the contest with Biola pulling within two at 27-25 on a pair of free throws by Danny Campbell with 3:40 to go. But Read took things into his own hand, scoring 12 straight points for Concordia to key a 14-4 run, giving CUI a 41-31 lead to halftime.

Biola narrow the deficit to eight on three occasions early in the second half the last coming on a Rocky Hampton tip-in to make it 50-42 at the 12:52 mark. But Concordia would use a 14-2 run after that play to go up by 20 and never look back.

Campbell and Hampton scored 14 points each to lead Biola while Marlon King added 11 points. However, turnovers played Biola as 16 miscues led to 16 points by Concordia on the night.

Concordia also dominated from beyond the three-point line, hitting 11 three-pointers to Biola's three.

Biola wraps up its road schedule on Tuesday (Feb. 26), heading to Fresno Pacific for a big GSAC showdown at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles are battling for a playoff spot in the GSAC tournament and are just a half-game behind the Sunbirds in the conference standings.
