RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Biola will be sending two more swimmers to the 2008 NAIA National Championships next week after Kyle Dingman and Meghan Samsvick swam qualifying times at the Lancer Last-Chance Meet at Cal Baptist on Wednesday.
Samsvick, a senior on the women's team, swam a 26.14 in the 50 free to earn the "A" cut in the event. That means she will also be able to swim the three other events she has recorded a "B" cut in at the NAIA Championships.
Dingman, a sophomore, also picked up his first automatic qualifying time with a 2:11.15 in the 200 backstroke.
Along with those two, Biola senior Elena Fernandez earned another "A" cut, this time in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:13.70.
With the addion of Dingman and Samsvick, the Eagles will be sending 20 swimmers to the NAIA National Championships Feb. 27 - Mar. 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
