LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University forward
Kennedy Chongo and defender
Brandon Gonzalez have been named to the 2008 All-Golden State Athletic Conference squad as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
For Gonzalez, it was the second-straight season he earned all-conference honors. The senior from Temecula scored three goals this season, but it was his play on defense that has turned heads in the conference. Gonzalez anchored the Biola defense which allowed just 21 goals this season. Over his career, he has played in 64 of Biola's 66 matches in his four years here, making 59 starts.
Chongo, a sophomore transfer from Trinity International University, led Biola with six goals and added two assists in his first season with the Eagles. He had one match-winner and saw time in all 16 of Biola's matches thus far on the year.
Biola wrapped up the regular season with an 8-6-2 mark and placed seventh in the GSAC with a 3-5-2 record. The Eagles open the GSAC playoffs on Wednesday (Nov. 5), traveling to Irvine to take on No. 2 seed Concordia University at 2:00 p.m.
