FRESNO, Calif. --- No. 12 Fresno Pacific scored four times in the match's first 60 minutes and hung on for a 4-1 victory over Biola in a GSAC match Wednesday night in Fresno.

The Eagles drop to 6-3-1 on the season and are now 1-2-1 in GSAC play. The Sunbirds improve to 6-1-1 and 2-1-1 in the conference.

Fresno Pacific simply dominated the first hour of the match, recording 14 shots and scoring on four of them. The Sunbirds got on the board early with a goal just under three minutes into the contest as Daniel Spieth received a long pass from Frenando Ferrari and one-touched it past the keeper.

They would add another first-half tally in the 27th minute as Jovanovic Mihailo scored from the top of the box off a nifty pass from Vitor Machado.

Fresno Pacific would score two quick second-half goals within eight minutes of each other to pull away from the Eagles as Gilherme Machado and his brother Vitor would each record goals.

Biola was finally able to get on the board in the 67th minute as sophomore Kennedy Chongo scored his sixth goal of the season thanks to a nice pass from sophomore Jake Ravenscraft. However, that would be it for the Eagles despite recording six more shots as the match wound down.

Biola hung close in the shots department as Fresno held a slight 19-17 advantage with both sides recording eight goalkeeper saves.

The Eagles return home this weekend, hosting No. 21 Concordia University in a GSAC match at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 10). Biola will look to improve on its 4-0-1 home record in the match which takes place during Parent's Weekend.
