LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola goalkeeper Lauren Gregston has been named the GSAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5 as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Gregston, a sophomore from Lake Forest, had a strong match against a pair of top-ranked GSAC squads in addition to helping the Eagles to a non-conference win at NCAA Division III UC Santa Cruz. For the week, Gregston had 13 saves with a 1.33 goals against average as Biola won twice in three matches.
Her best performance came on Wednesday in Biola's 2-1 double overtime win over No. 22-ranked Vanguard. After allowing an early goal, Gregston went on to record 10 saves to buy time for the Eagles, who eventually came back and won in the second overtime period.
Biola returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 7), traveling to Fresno Pacific for a GSAC match at 7:00 p.m.
