EL CAJON, Calif. --- Senior middle blocker Kristen Peterson recorded eight kills, hitting .700 in the match and adding three blocks to lead No. 3 Biola to a 25-21, 25-9, 25-18 sweep over San Diego Christian in a GSAC volleyball match on Tuesday night in El Cajon.

The Eagles improve to 21-2 on the season and 11-2 in GSAC play on the heels of their fifth-straight victory. The Hawks fall to 5-20 overall and 1-12 in conference action.

Peterson was joined by fellow middle Kelsey Christoferson in leading the charge for the Eagles. Christoferson contributed seven kills and added a pair of blocks while posting a .417 attack percentage.

Junior libero Katie Stevens recorded eight digs to vault her into third place on the all-time dig list at Biola. In just three seasons with the Eagles, Stevens has recorded 1,359 digs, averaging 4.50 per set. She now trails the co-leaders, Heather Diliberto and Hannah Timboe, by just 106 digs.

The first game went back-and-forth as San Diego Christian came out firing. Trailing 14-13, the Eagles broke off a 10-3 run to take a commanding lead and cruise to the win in the first game. Biola hit just .161 and committed seven of their 11 hitting errors in that first game.

The Eagles had everything going in the second game, jumping out to an 18-5 lead and not looking back. Biola rebounded from the tough first game to hit .478 while holding the Hawks to a -.115 attack percentage.

Biola again got off to a quick start in game three, leading 16-9 near the midway point. San Diego Christian would close the gap to three on a pair of occasions, but Biola would hang on to win.

Biola returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 25), hosting No. 15 Point Loma Nazarene in a GSAC match at 7:00 p.m. in Chase Gymnasium.
