LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Sophomore Marlon King had a career-high 20 points and senior Danny Jones came close to recording the school's first triple-double as Biola outlasted The Master's College 77-65 in a GSAC game Tuesday night at Chase Gymnasium.

King, who scored 15 of his team-high 20 points in the first half, was 8-for-12 from the field, adding three assists and a steal for the Eagles (10-4 overall, 2-2 GSAC). Jones added 16 points, 15 rebounds and was just two assists shy of a triple-double, finishing the night with eight helpers.

Eric Durso led The Master's (8-6 overall, 2-2 GSAC) with 25 points and 10 boards, helping the Mustangs stay close throughout the majority of the game.

Biola had the better of play at the start of the game, jumping out to a 22-9 lead midway through the first half. The Eagles maintained an 11-point edge at 26-15 with just over seven minutes to go before the half. But the Master's used an 11-2 run to pull within two at 28-26 with 4:09 to go and went into the locker room trailing by just five at 37-32.

A quick 8-0 run set the tone for Biola in the second half as the Eagles extended their lead to 13 points just over three minutes into the period. The Master's was able to pull within nine on two occasions, but never really threatened the rest of the way.

Biola shot an impressive 56 percent from the field, hitting 28-of-50 overall. In the pivitol second half, the Eagles outshot the Mustangs 59 percent to 38 percent.

The Master's had trouble stopping Biola's inside game as Jones hit for 16 points and sophomore Rocky Hampton added 11 points and had four blocked shots. Overall the Eagles outscored the Mustangs 38-28 in the paint.

Biola will now prepare for a key GSAC game on Saturday (Jan. 12), traveling to Riverside to face No. 15 California Baptist at 7:30 p.m.
