SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Biola University scored a pair of goals, but it wasn't enough to defeat The Master's College as the Mustangs held on for a 3-2 win over the Eagles in a driving rain Saturday afternoon in the GSAC opener for both teams.

The Eagles dropped to 2-4-0 on the year and 0-1-0 in GSAC play while the Mustangs improve to 2-4-1 and 1-0-0 in conference.

After an early goal by The Master's in the seventh minute, Biola knotted the score in the 11th minute on a goal by Brittany Neill. Neill finished from inside the box after receiving a great cross from freshman Tara Roetter.

But The Master's added another tally in the 36th minute off a corner kick to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Mustangs scored again to go up 3-1 thanks to a goal by Natalie Totaro, who bent a shot around the wall on a free kick from just outside the box.

Biola made a furious comeback attempt in the final 10 minutes, cutting the lead to 3-2 on a goal by Roetter, who headed home a rebound off a missed shot. However, they were unable to come all the way back as the Mustangs held on for the win.

Biola returns home on Wednesday (Sept. 26) to host Vanguard University in a GSAC matchup at 7:00 p.m.
