Biola Men's Basketball Announces 2007-08 Schedule

Head Coach Dave Holmquist

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Fourteen home games, an exhibition against an NCAA Division I school and a season-finale contest against arch-rival Azusa Pacific highlight the 2007-08 Biola University's men's basketball team schedule released on Wednesday.

The Eagles season opens on the road with an exhibition contest against Cal State Fullerton, an NCAA Division I school from the Big West Conference. The Titans finished 20-10 and reached the conference semifinals before being upset by Cal Poly.

Biola opens regular season play on the road, traveling to Montana to take part in the Carroll College tournament. The Eagles start Golden State Athletic Conference play at San Diego Christian College on Nov. 21.

After a non-conference contest at the University of Redlands (Nov. 24) and another GSAC game at Hope International (Nov. 27), Biola hosts Point Loma Nazarene in its home opener on Nov. 29. It is the first of four straight home contests as the Eagles also entertain non-conference foes Cal State Maritime (Dec. 1), Whittier College (Dec. 4) and Pomona-Pitzer (Dec. 8).

The Eagles play in one final tournament before diving into conference play, traveling up to the Bay area for the Bethany University Tournament on Dec. 27-28.

Biola wraps up the regular season with a home game against arch-rival Azusa Pacific University on March 3. The contest could determine the GSAC championship as the two teams have finished in the top three spots in the conference in eight of the last 10 seasons. Biola travels to APU to wrap up the first half of conference play on Jan. 29.

Despite finishing the 2006-07 season with a 15-16 record, the Eagles still managed to reach the post season for the 14th straight year.
