LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola first baseman Sarah Jensen has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Week for April 23-29 as announced by the league office on Monday.
Jensen, a junior from San Diego, went 9-for-12 (.750) at the plate, failing to reach base in just three of her 16 plate appearances to help No. 17-ranked Biola split four conference games. For the week, she had six runs, a double, three RBIs and two walks.
She went 5-for-7 with a pair of RBI in Biola's doubleheader losses against No. 4 Point Loma Nazarene. Jensen improved on that with a 4-for-5 performance in the Eagles' regular-season finale with Hope International on Saturday. The only time she was retired was on a ground out in the second game which drove in a run.
Biola begins postseason play on Tuesday, May 8 at the NAIA Region II Tournament in Riverside, Calif. The Eagles open the double-elimination tournament against No. 1 Cal Baptist at 10:00 a.m.
