LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Despite a big win by David Paltza, Biola was unable to overcome a tough Vanguard team, which downed the Eagles 8-1 in a GSAC match on Friday at the Biola Tennis Complex.
Biola falls to 1-12 and 0-5 in GSAC with the loss.
Paltza earned an impressive 6-4, 6-2 victory over Rusty Leach at No. 6 singles for the Eagles' lone win of the day. It was just the second GSAC match won by Biola all season and the first singles victory over a conference opponent.
The Eagles return to the courts on Saturday (Mar. 31) for another GSAC match, this time against Concordia University.
