SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- The Master's College jumped out to a quick lead and added a bunch of runs late to beat No. 9 Biola 15-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Reese Field in Santa Clarita.

The Eagles fall to 18-7 on the season and are now 12-6 in GSAC play while the Mustangs move to 15-16 and 8-10 in conference.

Mike Weiss pitched a brilliant game for The Master's, allowing just two runs on six hits over seven innings to pick up the win.

Steve Shaver had a big day for the Mustangs, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Graham Miller was 3-for-4 with a pair of triples, a run scored and two RBIs.

Biola's Danny Morrow provided half of Biola's offense, going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Hawkins Gebbers added two more hits and scored the only two runs for the Eagles.

The Master's scored four in the bottom of the first inning with three runs coming after a Biola error. After the Eagles got one back in the top of the second, the Mustangs scored a pair to make it 6-1 after two.

Neither team scored again until the Mustangs added two more in the bottom of the sixth. They broke the game open with five runs in the seventh and tacked on two more in the eighth.

Josh Baas suffered his second loss in as many games for Biola, dropping to 1-3 on the season, though he didn't have the usually strong Eagle offense to help him out today.

The two teams meet again on Thursday (Mar. 22) for the second half of a home-and-home series, this time at 2:30 p.m. on Eagles Diamond.
