GAME ONE BOX SCORE | GAME TWO BOX SCORE

ORANGE, Calif. --- Senior Katie Gustaveson pitched her second no-hitter in three outings leading Biola to a 10-0 win over Macalester College to open play at the SunWest Softball Tournament on Tuesday.

The Eagles (12-6 overall) rounded out the day with a 3-1 win over SUNY Cortland thanks to a strong pitching performance by sophomore Emily Gray.

In the first game, Gustaveson (6-4) struck out 10 and allowed just one base-runner to reach on an error as Biola won via the run-rule. Keena Lavert and Sarah Jensen blasted two-run home runs to pace the Eagles' offense.

Biola got one in the first on an RBI single by Lindsey Nuckells to score Amerra Kesterson. The Eagles batted around for eight runs in the third capped by the two home runs. Kesterson and Kacie Lyding added run-scoring singles.

In game two, Krista Johnson was the star of the game, driving in all three of the Eagles runs. She got Biola going with two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the first inning, then drove in a big insurance run in the bottom of the third with another two-out single.

That would be as much as Gray would need, as she ran her record to 5-2 by striking out six and allowing one run on just three hits. Tatiana Garcia recorded the final three outs to record her third save of the season.

Biola returns to action on Saturday (Mar. 24), hosting Concordia University at Noon at Freedom Field in La Mirada.
