LINCOLN, Neb. --- Senior Brian Ball punched his ticket to the 2007 NAIA Indoor National Championships with an eighth place finish in the 1,000 meter run at the Husker Invitational on Saturday at the Devaney Sports Complex in Lincoln, Neb.

Ball, who earned NAIA All-American honors in cross country with a 26th place finish in just his second race of the year, finished the 1,000m run in 2:31.82. He placed right in the middle of a number of NCAA Division I and Division II athletes at the meet, which is one of the top ones of the season.

Ball joins Kristin Schmidt as the two Biola runners to qualify for the NAIA Indoor championships March 8-10 in Johnson City, Tenn. Schmidt qualified in the mile at the Concordia Indoor Qualifier on Jan. 27 with a provisional time of 5:15.77.

Biola continues qualifying with a trip to the Azusa Pacific Indoor Qualifier on Saturday (Feb. 10) starting at 10:00 a.m.
