LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Sophomore forward Megann Alberts was named to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference team on Tuesday, becoming the first Biola women's basketball player on the squad since the 2003-04 season.
Alberts, a graduate of Colorado Springs Christian High School, averaged 19 points and 10 rebounds a game to lead the Eagles this season. She finished as the GSAC leader in rebounds and was fifth in scoring despite missing the final two games of the year to injury.
Alberts scored 20-plus points in 15 contests for Biola and scored 36 and 33 points in two games against Cal Baptist. Her 36 points were the most scored by an Eagle player since the mid-90s.
Biola wrapped up the 2006-07 campaign with a 10-19 record and finished tied for ninth in the GSAC with a 6-14 record.
