LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola suffered its second straight GSAC loss as Westmont College beat the Eagles 8-1 on Tuesday evening at the Biola Tennis Complex in La Mirada.

Biola drops to 2-4 on the year and 0-3 in GSAC play while Westmont improves to 2-4 and 1-3.

The Eagles picked up their lone win at No. 6 singles where Marvy Beckman held off Emily Hughes 6-3, 7-5. Beckman was down 4-5 in the second set before rallying to close out the match.

Ellen Monkemeier played a tough first game against nationally-ranked Lorelei Belindean before falling 7-5, 6-0. Monkemeier jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead before Belindean roared back for the win.

Biola returns to action on Friday (Mar. 2), hosting Ohio Northern University in a non-conference match at the Biola Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
