Dulin's Record-Setting Night Not Enough to Beat No. 12 APU

Rachel Dulin hit a school-record nine three-pointers in her final collegiate game

BOX SCORE

AZUSA, Calif. --- Senior Rachel Dulin set a school record with nine three-pointers and finished with 27 points, but it wasn't enough as Biola fell 88-76 to No. 12-ranked Azusa Pacific University on Monday night at the Felix Events Center in Azusa.

The Eagles wrap up their season with a 10-19 overall record and a 6-14 mark in GSAC play. The Cougars improve to 23-6 on the year and finish the regular season with a 15-5 record in conference.

Dulin and fellow senior Rochelle Rausch played outstanding in their final games as Eagles with Rausch scoring 16 points--including 14 in the second half. She also had five assists and six steals to go with four rebounds. Dulin was 9-of-14 from beyond the arc on the night and added four assists.

APU senior Monica Somers wrapped up her final Biola/APU rivalry game with a bang, scoring 24 points to lead the Cougars. Alyssa Ferdaszewski added 16 points and six boards.

Biola had trouble with stopping Azusa Pacific in the first half as the Cougars were 67-percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes. However the Eagles kept things close thanks to an edge on the boards and trailed 45-33 at the half.

In the second half, though, Azusa broke the game open with a 31-9 run over the first 10 minutes. The Cougars would lead by as many as 36 with 8:24 left before Biola started chipping away. The Eagles scored 32 of the final 40 points of the game, but it proved to be too little away.

Dulin finishes her four-year career with 181 made three-pointers, which ranks her third on Biola's all-time list. Her 550 attempted three's is second all-time and she finishes with a 32.9-percent career three-point percentage.
