LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Playing in its first GSAC match since 1998, Biola's men's tennis squad suffered a tough 9-0 loss to Pt. Loma Nazarene on Saturday at the Biola Tennis Complex in La Mirada.

The Eagles fall to 1-4 on the season and 0-1 in GSAC play while the Sea Lions improve to 4-1 and are now 2-0 in conference action.

Biola won just five games against Pt. Loma in the singles competition which opened the match. Tyler Jung played Craig Johnson tough at No. 1 singles, but eventually fell 6-3, 6-0.

The only other games won by the Eagles came at No. 4 singles where Greg Cox picked up two games in the second set again Landon Hilker, but still fell 6-0, 6-2 overall.

In doubles play, Jung and Joel Huibregtse gave Jeff Nelson and Mark Philibosian a run before losing 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Cox and Justin Mart followed with an 8-3 loss to Hilker and Bradin Simms.

The Eagles return to action on Tuesday (Feb. 27) as they take on Westmont College in a GSAC match at the Biola Tennis Complex. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
