LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Katie Williams scored 24 points off the bench and picked up nine steals to lead Fresno Pacific to a 71-62 win over Biola Tuesday night at Chase Gymnasium in La Mirada.
The Eagles loss drops them to 10-17 on the season and 6-12 in GSAC play while the Sunbirds improve to 19-10 and 9-10 in conference action.
Sophomore Megann Alberts had 20 points and added 12 rebounds to lead the way for Biola while senior Rachel Dulin, playing in her final home game with the Eagles, added a season-high 18 points.
Biola jumped out to a quick lead in the game, holding a 17-11 edge halfway though the first half. The Eagles led 33-28 with 2:14 to go before Fresno went on a 13-0 run which spanned the half to take a 41-33 lead.
Biola fought back to pull within five at 48-43, but the Sunbirds put the game away with a 16-3 run over the next seven minutes and would not allow Biola to get any closer than six before the final buzzer.
The Eagles were plagued by turnovers, committing 32 in the game with 23 of those in the first half. Fresno Pacific made them pay by converting those turnovers into 42 points. they also held a 20-2 edge in fastbreak points as a number of turnovers led to odd-man breakaways.
Tonight's game was the final regular-season home game for Biola and the final home game for two seniors, Dulin and Rochelle Rausch.
The Eagles hit the road to end the regular-season, traveling to face No. 1-ranked Vanguard University on Saturday (Feb. 24) at 5:30 p.m.
