LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola dropped its Golden State Athletic Conference opener on Saturday, falling 6-3 to The Master's College.

The Eagles, who were playing without two of their top six players, drop to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the GSAC.

Biola picked up a victory at No. 2 doubles to open things up as Christine Garner and Ellen Monkemeier combined for an 8-5 win over Christy Baughman and Mary Buck.

However, the Eagles were able to win just two of the six singles matches. Those victories came at No. 5 and No. 6 as April Schiller defeated N. Troung 6-3, 6-1 while Katie Schaller scored a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sofie Garcia.

Biola returns home for a non-conference match against La Sierra University on Tuesday (Feb. 20) at 2:00 p.m.
