Dannys Dominate for Biola in 78-39 Win Over Pomona-Pitzer

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Senior Danny Jones had 18 points and sophomore Danny Campbell added 16 to pace Biola University to a 78-39 win over NCAA Division III Pomona-Pitzer College in a non-conference game on Saturday night at Chase Gymnasium.

The Eagles improve to 6-3 on the season with their third-straight victory while the Sagehens drop to 2-5.

Biola's NAIA-leading defense was on display again as the Eagles held Pomona-Pitzer to just 39 points and just 24.5 percent shooting from the field. Biola, on the other hand, shot 57.4 percent from the field including going 11-for-22 from beyond the arc.

The Eagles never trailed in the game, scoring the first seven points of the contest and leading 29-5 with 8:15 remaining in the half. The Eagles would hold a 26 point lead at halftime.

In the second half, Biola would extend the lead to as many as 40 points before finally settling for the 39-point victory.

Nearly everyone got in the scoring column for Biola, led by the Danny's with 18 and 16, respectively. Freshman Luke Duperron and junior Larry Tieu each poured in nine points to lead the balanced attack.

Biola returns to action on Saturday (Dec. 15) for a non-conference game at NCAA Division II Cal State Los Angeles. Tip off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
