LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Sophomore Elise Paty scored 14 points and freshman Jenna French scored 13 as all 13 Biola players scored in an 88-45 romp over NCAA Division III Pomona-Pitzer College on Saturday night at Chase Gymnasium.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Eagles and helped them improve to 4-5 on the season. The Sagehens fell to 1-6 overall.
Biola controlled every aspect of the game, shooting over 55 percent from the field while holding Pomona-Pitzer to just 23 percent. The Eagles also outrebounded the Sagehens 46-26.
Junior forward Megann Alberts scored 10 points for the Eagles, helping Biola hold a 44-4 edge in scoring in the paint.
Biola never was threatened in the game, opening up a 10 point lead just five minutes into the contest. The Eagles would lead by 26 at halftime and led by as 49 points before sedding on the 43-point victory.
Biola returns to action on Saturday (Dec. 8), hosting its annual alumni game at 5:30 p.m. in Chase Gymnasium. The Eagles next regular-contest is on Saturday, Dec. 15, as the Eagles host NCAA Division II Cal State Dominguez Hills at 7:00 p.m. at Biola.
