HELENA, Mont. --- Biola's offense got off to a slow start and never quite caught up, falling to Carroll College (Mont.) 64-56 on Saturday night in the final game of the 2007 Mountain West Classic hosted by Carroll.
The Eagles fall to 1-1 on the season while the Saints improve to 7-2.
Sophomore Danny Campbell scored 18 points to lead Biola. Sophomore Marlon King added 15 points with senior Danny Jones adding 14.
Eric Henkel led the Saints with 14 points while Chad Vaculin added 13.
The Eagles were outscored 24-15 in the first half, failing to reach double-digits until late in the period. Carroll opened the second half with a 14-3 run to push the lead up to 41-18 and led by 20 at 43-23 with 7:30 to go.
Biola then closed the gap to nine at 50-41 with an 18-7 run and held Carroll to just two field goals down the stretch. However, the Saints converted on nearly all of their free throws down the stretch to hold on for the victory.
The Eagles return to action on Wednesday (Nov. 21) as they open GSAC play at San Diego Christian College at 7:30 p.m.
