Eagles Rebound With 64-48 Win Over Williams Baptist

McKENZIE, Tenn. --- Megann Alberts scored 25 points and Summer Matthews added 12 points and 14 rebounds as Biola University defeated Williams Baptist College (Ark.) 64-48 in the final game of the McKenzie Rotary Club Classic hosted by Bethel College on Saturday.

The Eagles improve to 2-2 on the season after splitting games at the Bethel Classic. Williams Baptist drops to 2-2 overall.

Biola took advantage of a strong first half, jumping out to a 35-22 halftime lead. The Eagles shot 43 percent from the field in the half and held Williams Baptist to just 30 percent shooting.

Biola had been plagued by turnovers in its first three games, committed just 18 points leading to eight points by Williams Baptist.

The Eagles have a busy week, hosting a pair of home games. The first is on Monday (Nov. 12) as Biola hosts an exhibition contest against the Melbourne Roos from Australia. Tip off is at 7:00 p.m.
