RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Despite playing a strong match against one of the top teams in the conference, Biola fell 2-1 to No. 17-ranked Cal Baptist in its season finale on Wednesday in Riverside.
The Eagles wrap up their season at 3-11-2 and 1-6-2 in conference play while the Lancers improve to 12-4-0 and 7-2-0 in GSAC play.
Cal Baptist scored the first goal of the game on a header by Jacquelyn Witz in the 25th minute.
However, just over three minutes later, sophomore Kahlie Reinecke got the goal back, scoring on a rebound off the crossbar on a shot by senior Brandi Johannsen.
However, in the 38th minute, Lindsey Merrett scored the go-ahead goal off a cross by Witz.
Biola tried to pull back into the contest in the second half, but the Eagles were unable to find the tying-goal.
The Eagles' scheduled match for Saturday against San Diego Christian College has been cancelled as SDCC closed down the school due to fires around El Cajon.
