Bodine Leads Eagles to 10th Place Finish at Concordia Invitational

COMPLETE RESULTS

LONG BEACH, Calif. --- Senior Greg Bodine finished at 16-over par to pace the Biola University men's golf team to a 10th place finish at the Concordia University Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the Skylinks Golf Club in Long Beach.

The Eagles continued their inaugural season of men's golf by finishing 10th among the tough field in their first 36-hole tournament of the year. Overall, Biola had a total score of 991, 127 strokes over par.

Bodine got off to a good start, shooting a first-day, five-over par 149. However, a second-day 83 dropped him down to 40th overall. His second-round 74 was the best single round for a Biola golfer so far this year.

Tim Goodfriend finished 50th with a 25-over-par 241. Christofer Clark shot a 39-over 255. Rounding out the five-some for the Eagles were Neal Kapur (48-over 264) and Rob Johnson (55-over 271).

"We are learning a lot and getting more exposure as the season goes on," said Head Coach John Lane. "I am proud of how the guys played and with their steady improvement. None of these guys have played collegiate golf before this and they are quickly learning what it takes to perform on this level."

Point Loma Nazarene had little trouble winning the event, firing a 15-under par 849 to take the event by 19 strokes.

Mitchell Evanecz from the University of Victoria won individual honors with an impressive 13-under 203, beating out PLNU's Sam Cyr by one stroke.

Biola returns to the links on November 2-3 for the Cal State San Marcos Invitational.
