LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University women's soccer goalkeeper Lauren Gregston has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 24-Sept. 30, the conference announced Monday marking the second time she has earned the honor this season.

Gregston, a freshman from Lake Forest's El Toro High School, was strong in net as Biola recorded a tie and a loss against a pair of NAIA Top-10 ranked teams this week.

Against No. 10 Vanguard, Gregston made three saves in a scoreless overtime draw including a clutch one-on-one save with time winding down in the second half.

At No. 5 Point Loma Nazarene, the Biola netminder made 11 saves and allowed just two goals in Biola's 2-1 loss. The eventual match-winning goal against the Sea Lions was scored on a penalty kick with the Eagles already playing a man-down. Another red card forced Biola to play with just nine players for the final 30 minutes, but Gregston stood strong and kept the Eagles in the match.

This is the second time Gregston has earned the honor after being named the GSAC defensive player of the week during the first week of the season after posting her first collegiate shutout in a win over Oregon Tech.

Biola returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 2), hosting Fresno Pacific University in a GSAC match at 4:00 p.m.
